GolfInvestors Stock Certificate
Am back writing blog entries now, as I have taken the GMAT test yesterday. Not studying anymore. See the end of this blog for more information on how I did on the test.
GolfInvestors gives users the ability to print stock certificates at any time from their own computer. The certificate is based upon the number of shares the user owns of a golfer on a GolfInvestors stock market.
In late 2004 we commissioned an artist, Vitaly Goloborodv, to design a stock certificate specific to the GolfInvestors stock markets. Vitaly did a wonderful job in designing the stock certificate. He designed the certificate based upon the GolfInvestors corporate green color and our corporate "G" icon.
Below is a sample of what the stock certificate looks like.
Users can log in to their GolfInvestors account, go to their My Account - Portfolio page, and click on the stock certificate icon on the right side of any player's row (only "long positions are available to print stock certificates; "short" positions are not available). Doing so will auto generate a screen version of the stock certificate with the number of shares owned of the golfer. This stock certificate image is screen quality and can be viewed on any computer monitor. For example, the image can be used as a wallpaper image on a user's computer desktop.
A print quality version of the stock certificate can be purchased if wanted. [ Purchase ]
This is just another element that is implemented on GolfInvestors to make the trading experience more real.
Now back to the GMAT. As for my results on the GMAT, I was shown my score immediately after I hit the "finished" button on the keyboard. In this day and age the GAMT test is taken on a computer (CAT - computer adaptive test). It is not like it was when I first took the GMAT in 1992. At that time 100-200 people gathered on a Saturday morning with no.2 pencils and a punch card in hand. The results were mailed to you 2 months later.
In this go around I knew my score when I left the site. No suspense at all. It is taking me longer to write out my test score in this blog entry than it took the computer to calculate and present to me my score. I made a 590.
This core is not terrible, not good, and below my goal of 600. Ugh.... Now I need to make sure all of my other items for the PhD application are spectacular and in line with the criteria heights of the application committee.
Oh, I did forget to mention which schools I am applying to. Actually, I am applying to just one school: University of Colorado - Leeds School of Business - PhD Program.
They have a good focus on entrepreneurship / small business / business strategy, which is my desire area of study.
