Is the FedEx Cup an exhibit of more control by the US PGA Tour?

The FedEx Cup that starts in the 2007 season on the US PGA Tour is using a point system rather than earnings to separate the hawks from the eagles. Why would the US PGA Tour not look at the money for earnings? Is it because they do not want their individual tournaments increasing the purse of their tournaments to try to make their tournament a different from the other tournaments?

GolfInvestors is not for Tiger Woods

Something that normally comes up every time as the first question when I am explaining GolfInvestors is the following question:

"Why would Tiger Woods use this?"

Answer: Tiger Woods will not use GolfInvestors. However, only 5-10% of the professional golfers that are trying to play professionally had enough money to play professional golf when they first came out on tour. It is the other 90-95% of the players that will want to use GolfInvestors.

That said, some veteran players, namely senior tour players, could possible utilize GolfInvestors to get more fans interested in the senior tour. Let's say Hale Irwin, who doesn't need extra cash or need to be funded to pay for his professional golf tournament activities, offers to sell 5-10% of "himself" (ownership to his future cash flow for a set period of time). These shareholders would not have voting rights, but would be more interested in following Irwin to see how he is doing as they have a financial interest in Irwin.
