Twitter

Am going to try out Twitter to see if it is worth it or not to keep updates of what I am doing on GolfInvestors. To following along, my Twitter URL is:

I will try to keep updates updated on Twitter so that it makes it worth it to follow along. Who knows, it might be a waste of time or it might be interesting to follow along. Will find out over the course of the year in 2008.

Elling: Mini-tours "legalized gambling"

I was reading an article today by CBS Sportsline's Steve Elling (formerly with the Orlando Sentinel) about the 2008 rookies on the US PGA Tour [ here is the article ]. While I was reading the article a small sentence caught my eye. He said: mini-tours is a form of "legalized gambling" (under Kevin Streelman's bio).

Elling's premise for saying that playing mini-tours is gambling is because the prize purse is funded almost completely by the player's entry fees.

Is an event that funds the majority of the prize purse with player entry fees gambling?

Screencast on how to export a tournament schedule

Since we have implemented the hCalendar microformat on GolfInvestors, users can now export tournament schedules easily into their own calendar application (i.e. MS Outlook, Google Calendar, Yahoo! Calendar, etc.).

To learn more about how to export a tournament schedule from GolfInvestors, watch the screencast below which shows how to use the FireFox 'Operator' add-on to export the 2008 US PGA Tour tournament schedule.
