Apply online for an Investor's account and you could be trading on the GolfInvestor stock markets in minutes. An Investor's account provides individuals the ability to buy and sell shares of professional golfers which are traded on GolfInvestor stock markets.
Below is information to help you make a decision whether or not to setup an Investor account on GolfInvestors.

General Overview of GolfInvestors
In a nutshell, GolfInvestors is:

Investor Features
- Alerts: Track and receive alerts about players, offerings, and other important news items which you want to know about. Alerts are presented in the My Account section as well as emailed based upon user preferences.
- Offerings: Research and purchase shares of offerings of professional golfers.
- Quotes: Find the latest executed price, closest bid and ask order, news, charts, and profile information on players traded on the GolfInvestors markets.
- OrderBook ($): Access to a detailed table layout of the latest executed prices and closest 5 (or as many as you like) bid and ask orders for multiple players traded on the GolfInvestors markets.
- Buy/Sell: Configure and submit orders to the open GolfInvestors markets via the simple Buy/Sell order form.
- Portfolio: Get a snapshot of your portfolio for any GolfInvestors market. You can see your balance sheet (i.e. cash holdings, long market value, stocks shorted, cash borrowed) and list of stocks you own.
- Orders: Review and search your executed orders for each GolfInvestors stock market.
- History: Review and search all of your transactions, including un-executed orders, executed orders, canceled orders, dividend distributions, and finance charges.
- Advanced Trading Floor Interface ($): The Trading Floor provides you with 2 additional interfaces to trade on the GolfInvestors markets: 1) HTML Frames Page; and 2) Java Applet.
- Rankings: The Rankings page allows you to see how you compare with other investors playing the GI markets based upon your portfolio's Net Asset Value (NAV = Assets - Liabilities).
- Discussions: The Discussion section is where you can post and reply to forum postings regarding markets, tournaments, players, and other related GolfInvestors topics.
- Groups ($): Create, join and manage groups. The Groups section is which you can participate with selected individuals you know, rather than the entire investor base of GolfInvestors.
- Analyst Reports: Write and publish your thoughts in your own analyst reports. Become an analyst and analysis anything from a tournament to a player, from an offering to a market.
- Bookmarks: Keep track of useful pages on GolfInvestors or pages on other websites.
- Investor Journal: Keep a running tab on your ideas and history on GolfInvestors.
- Investor Indexes: Create and monitor your own market indexes.
- Stock Ticker: Easily monitor the activity of players traded on the GolfInvestors stock markets while surfing other websites or working on other things on your computer.
- Wireless Access ($): Sit in front of the TV watching the golf tournaments and buy and sell golfers with your cell phone or wireless connected PDA (i.e. Palm Pilot).

Fees
Starting on November 15, 2004, GolfInvestors started charging a fee for accessing some advanced features on the site. These features are called 'Advanced Trading Features'.
GolfInvestors has offered its site entirely for free for investor users since its inception in 1999. So the implementation of a fee in late 2004 is something new. The implementation of a fee is to help cover the costs it takes to run and operate GolfInvestors, as welll as to continue to improve GolfInvestors.
Only the Advanced Trading Features will be for a fee as we feel it is necessary to offer the basic trading features and setup of an investor account for free for the purpose of promoting GolfInvestors to more and more users. The more users which trade on GolfInvestor stock markets, the more fun it is for everyone.
That said, it continues to be FREE to setup an Investor account and to start utilizing the basic trading features.
There however are fees associated with the Advanced Trading Features. Below is a list of the pages which fall into the category of Advanced Trading Features.

These fees are for both simulation and real markets.
For real markets, if there are any fees per trade (commissions), the market detail page specific to the market being traded on will have the commission structure accordingly [link].
Payment for Advanced Trading features can be done online via the My Account - Payment Form. You will need to already have setup an investor account to be able to access the Payment Form.
To create a group, it costs $15 per group you create [link]. You can create as many groups you want, however, a each group you create can only be related to one market. Groups are only available for simulation markets, and are not available for real markets.

Open an Account
