Private Label GI - Licensing

Want to run your own GolfInvestors stock markets on your own servers?

Then you can license the GolfInvestors technology. Our professional services team will install the GolfInvestors software directly onto your server - allowing you to retain total ownership and control of your GolfInvestors infrastructure. This will enable you to create and run your own GolfInvestor stock markets, setup prize structures for each market, manage users, manage advertisers, manage sponsors, view reports, and more.

Note: Licensing of the GolfInvestors system is only for the simulation version of GolfInvestors at this time. It is not for the real version of GolfInvestors.

Benefits of the GolfInvestors Licensing Program

  • "Stickiness": GolfInvestors' stock markets encourage greater usage of your site with its interactive nature. 2 of the top 3 most visited types of web sites are game sites and online brokerage sites. GolfInvestors is a combination of both.
  • Increased Subscriber Loyalty: Once subscribers experience the addicting nature of owning shares of their favorite golfer, they will never want to give it up.
  • Control All Aspects of the Technology: Through our technology you can manage users, markets, prizes, forums, advertisements, sponsorships, and more. You decide the criteria for each market. You decide the prize structure for each market.
  • Add Value to Your Current Services: You can seamlessly integrate the GolfInvestors market into your current array of services provided on your web site. The design will take on the same look and feel of your current web site design, as GolfInvestors will build a specific template to fit your web site as part of the licensing program.
  • Increase Revenues: You have the potential to increase your revenue by charging users to setup an account and/or trade on the GolfInvestor stock markets and by selling additional advertising and sponsorship inventory.
  • Quick to Market: GolfInvestors can deliver a customized solution in a fraction of the time it would take a company to develop a similar substitute in house. Once a contract is signed and payment details worked out, a site visit is scheduled and your licensed Gi site can be up and running in a matter of days.

In addition, the GolfInvestors technology allows companies to drive e-commerce by associating golf products with a professional golfer. For example, on GolfInvestors, where ever Ernie Els is mentioned, he has one of his sponsor's logos shown with his picture. Clicking on that logo will take the user to the sponsor's product catalog and possibly purchase a product from a licensed Gi vendor or the sponsor themself. Associating a product with a professional golfer has been known to increase the purchase rate of a company's product. For golf-related equipment companies this is highlighted even more so through the Player's Profile - Equipment-in-Bag section (for example, see Ernie Els' equipment in bag page). This shows each piece of equipment the player uses for a specific tournament. It is possible to show the player using that piece of equipment in a picture or a video. Again the user can click on the equipment item to purchase the product the player is using at the time of viewing that picture or video of the player using that specific piece of equipment.

Get Started

To install the GolfInvestors system, follow the steps below.

  1. Download the latest copy of the GolfInvestors code

See download section on this page to get the latest code, documentation and full installation guide.

  2. Uncompress the downloaded file

On a Linux machine, use the following command to uncompress the file:

      tar -xvvzf gi_<release date>.tar.gz

On a Windows machine, use Winzip or Winrar to uncompress the file.

  3. Set permissions for the 'gi' directory

    On a Linux machine:

      chmod 755 -R gi

On a Windows machine, do nothing.

  4. Set owner of the 'gi' directory

If using Apache as the web server, set the owner of the 'gi' folder to be the user which the Apache web server runs as (i.e. apache, nobody, etc.):

    On a Linux machine:

      chown nobody.nobody -R gi

On a Windows machine, do nothing.

  5. Configure web server so a domain points to the 'gi' directory

In Apache, modify the httpd.conf file so a host or virtualhost points to the 'gi' directory.

  6. Open a browser and go to the install.php script

Point your browser to http://<domain name>/install/install.php.

    For example:

      http://localhost/install/install.php

      - or -

      http://exampledomain.com/install/install.php

Go through the steps on this page, which will create the database for the GolfInvestors system, create the tables in that database, create the necessary user in the MySQL database to allow the PHP scripts to access the database, and populate the tables with default data.

  7. DONE!

The GolfInvestors system should be setup and running on your system now. Log into the admin section with the newly create admin user login and start managing your own GolfInvestors system.
